We are very pleased to announce that DMU Special Collections has received papers of the celebrated screenwriter Andrew Davies. The collection was donated to DMU’s Centre for Adaptations in 2015, where it has been catalogued and digitised by research assistants Anna Blackwell and Natalie Hayton (below, with the collection). The paper originals have now been handed to the Archive for safe keeping.
Spanning 1967’s “Getting the Smell of It” all the way to 2016’s “War and Peace”, the papers include drafts of books, poems, screenplays, radio plays, stage plays and films, correspondence, production notes, press cuttings and research notes.
The catalogue is available on request from the Archivist and the collection can be viewed Monday to Friday, 9 to 5, in the Special Collections Reading Room.
